DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
Welcome to Jess Parrish Medical Foundation!
Healing, helping and being present for the needs of others are what we at Parrish Medical
Center (PMC) and Jess Parrish Medical Foundation (JPMF) are all about. Presence is being consciously and
compassionately in the present moment with another. That may mean listening to what someone is saying as well
as what they are not saying, reading a person's body language or simply being there to listen when someone
wants to talk. Presence means many things and is shown in many different ways.
What are your interests, needs, and values?
At JPMF, being present means we embrace the interests and needs of our benefactors and supporters,
placing these interests at the center of our philanthropic mission. This benefactor-centered approached
begins with a focus on your values and connects those values to the living traditions, causes, community
needs and solutions within our realm. These connections nourish and sustain those values from generation
to generation.
Now more than ever, your support of Jess Parrish Medical Foundation is needed and can transform lives.
The changing climate of health care has created challenging times for hospitals, particularly not-for-profit
health care providers. And, the needs of our seniors, our children and our families exceed the financial
resources available to our medical center.
Giving makes us happier people. How might you give time, talent, or treasure to help improve the lives of others?
We work to provide meaningful giving opportunities at all levels. Community giving is what started our
organization more than 25 years ago, what led to our being named a past Organization of the Year
through FLORIDA TODAY's Volunteer Recognition Awards, and the spirit that carries Jess Parrish Medical
Foundation today.
Thanks to hundreds of generous supporters at all levels, JPMF has raised nearly $3 million in the past
five years and supported many community health and wellness programs. We continue to make a significant
and healing impact on the lives of families in North Brevard County and our region.
"Never underestimate the power of a group of individuals working together to change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." – Margaret Mead, 1969, Time Magazine
I believe, and recent scientific studies confirm, that giving makes us happier people. When we give of
ourselves through our time, talents and treasures to help improve the lives of others, our lives are
improved in the process. This is our mission and hope for you. This is our vision and hope for the community.
Please enjoy our website and feel free to contact me anytime. I would love to speak with you.
Warm regards,
As a healing hospital
